2010 GARDEN CLUB PROGRAMS

April 19 7:00 PM
Pay your dues and get your new booklet pages. Catch up with old friends, meet new members, and be introduced to the new board members. There will be a short topic on composting with red worms and those interested can join in on a "worm contest". So come get your worms!

May 17 6:00 PM
Come to the Country Road Greenhouse on M-129 (Pickford Rd.). Bring a one or two gallon pot or planter of some kind. Mr. Shultz will provide soil and fertilizer and advice on planting an outdoor pot that looks great all summer. The plants we use are to be purchased, so bring money.

June 21 6:00 PM
We'll meet under the pavilion at Project Playground for our annual plant exchange and short business meeting. Please label your give-away plants. This is a rain or shine event.

Bring your worm buddies too! We will be counting and weighing your worms to see who our winners are of the "worm contest".

July 19 6:00 PM
Garden Tour Evening. We will be meeting at Petals on Ashmun and car pool from there. Garden locations to be determined. Any volunteers??

August 16 6:00 PM
Pot-luck Picnic will be at Gregory's Greenhouse on 9 Mile Rd. Rain or shine, we can eat inside or out at the greenhouse. Bring a lawn chair, your own beverage, and a dish to pass. Tell the group about any outstanding successes or failures you've had in the garden this summer.

September 20 7:00 PM
Annual seed exchange (plants welcome too!). Brad Wieneke will be our guest speaker. He will be talking to us about his love of Orchids.

October 18 7:00 PM
Pat Wilson will be our guest speaker. She is an expert on mushrooms and will be talking with us about her knowledge on the different fungi.

November 15 7:00 PM
Larry Jacques will be joining us this evening. He will give us pointers on taking great photographs. We will have a photos contest to be judged by Larry. Bring your best garden photo and see if you win a prize.

December 11 10:00 AM
(Note this is a Saturday Event)
Bring evergreen branches, containers, ornaments, ribbon, and anything else you can think of to create holiday centerpieces to take home and to donate as raffle prizes for our Christmas Party the following Monday evening.

December 13 6:00 PM
(Note this is the 2nd Monday of December)
Pot-luck Christmas Party. Bring a dish to pass, your own beverage, and a wrapped gift ($10 value) for the gift exchange.
