SAULT AREA GARDEN CLUB
May 18, 2009 Meeting

The May meeting of the Sault Area Garden Club was held on Monday, May 18, 2009 at the Country Roads Greenhouse.

There were 30 members and guests present.

Members were asked to bring a one or two gallon pot or container. The greenhouse provided the soil and fertilizer and tips on planting a container arrangement. Members divided into two groups and proceeded to gather plants for their containers and pot them. The greenhouse gave Garden Club Members a 10% discount on all purchases. A good time was had by all and beautiful arrangements immerged.

Molly Paquin from the United Way and Jennifer Dunton from the United Way Volunteer Center presented the Garden Club with the April Volunteer of the Month Award in appreciation for members’ hard work in maintaining the Locks Park and the Historical Homes on Water Street. A picture was taken for the Evening News.

Refreshments followed furnished by Phyllis Bigelow, Jeannie Cooper, Jean Sylvestre, and Kate Marshall.

The next meeting of the Sault Area Garden Club will be Monday, June 15th at 6:00 p.m. under the pavilion at Project Playground for the annual plant exchange.
